WELLINGBOROUGH MAN OWEN BRADBROOK SENTENCED FOR POSSESSING OVER 1,100 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
In March 2019, a 60-year-old man from Wellingborough, Owen Bradbrook, was spared immediate imprisonment after police discovered a large collection of indecent images of children on his electronic devices.When police visited his home on Fell Walk in March 2017, they found three laptops and a hard drive.
Northampton Crown Court was informed on March 6 that Bradbrook had downloaded over 1,100 such images across these four devices, including more than 330 categorized as 'Category A' images and videos, which are classified as the most severe.
The court heard that police initially attempted to contact Bradbrook at his residence earlier that day.
During their second visit, he allowed them inside and confessed to attempting to delete some of the evidence before they arrived.
The collection of images also contained 349 'extreme' images, which involve depictions of animals or humans involved in disturbing scenarios.
Bradbrook had amassed this library over a span of three years of browsing.
Addressing Bradbrook, Recorder Tom Rochford stated, 'These are not crimes without victims.
The victims are children who are portrayed in these images and, in many cases, were forced into horrible acts for individuals like you.
These images are sick and disgusting in the eyes of most people.
I hope you will find them sick and disgusting too in time.
You need to have a long, hard look at yourself.' The judge sentenced Bradbrook to a nine-month prison term, suspended for two years, along with a 12-month supervision order.
As part of a sexual harm prevention order, his internet access will also be restricted.
