ASHLEY EVANS CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN WELLINGBOROUGH AND NORTHAMPTON

A prison officer employed at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough has been formally charged with a series of serious child sex offences. Ashley Evans, aged 36 and a resident of Archangel Square in Northampton, faces allegations that include engaging in inappropriate sexual communication with a minor and attempting to arrange or facilitate sexual activity involving a child.

These charges are part of a broader investigation into Evans's conduct, which has sent shockwaves through the local community and the prison system. The accusations are particularly grave, involving attempts to exploit a juvenile between the ages of 13 and 15, with allegations that he tried to cause the minor to view or watch an image depicting sexual activity.

Evans made an initial court appearance at Northampton Magistrates' Court on a recent Friday. During this hearing, he did not enter any pleas to the charges brought against him.
