PETERBOROUGH PAEDOPHILE SHAUN FOX JAILED FOR 14 YEARS
A paedophile who claimed he was a "17-year-old trapped in the body of a 43-year-old man" has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.Shaun Fox, aged 43, began speaking to his victim on Instagram on May 18, using a pseudonym and requesting to see inappropriate photos.
He also mentioned sending her 30 videos to rate for "naughtiness" and asked her to touch herself inappropriately.
When the victim's mother discovered the conversation, she posed as her daughter on WhatsApp, leading Fox to send three child abuse videos.
During police investigation, officers traced Fox through an email address associated with his Instagram account and CCTV footage of him purchasing a phone and top-up in Bretton, Peterborough.
He was arrested at his home on July 1, and in police interviews, he claimed to feel like a teenager trapped in a man's body.
Fox pleaded guilty to six counts, including breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, distributing indecent photographs, causing a child to view sexual images, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and causing a girl to engage in sexual activity.
He was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on August 13 to 14 years and six months and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life and a ten-year restraining order.
Judge Grey described Fox as a "self-serving male" who always put himself and his desires first, emphasizing that nothing was out of character for him, and accusing him of planning and executing his actions deliberately.
The judge condemned Fox's behavior as disgusting, stating that the victim would feel shame and humiliation, and that Fox was a "serious risk to the public" and every parent's "worst nightmare." Detective Jon Edwards highlighted the severity of the offences and paid tribute to the victim and her family for their bravery amid the ordeal.
