RAPIST JAILED FOR TEN YEARS FOLLOWING VIOLENT ATTACKS

Jakob Ireson, 31, of Sandringham Road, Walton, Peterborough, carried out the rape in October 2023 after attending a home in the city for drinks.

He made invasive and unwelcome advances toward a woman, then left before later returning and assaulting her while she was asleep.

The victim woke to find him raping her.

A year later, while on bail, police responded to a 999 call in March reporting that Ireson had entered another woman's residence.

This was despite an 18-year restraining order that barred him from visiting her address.

Upon entering, Ireson became verbally abusive and then violently attacked the woman.

His attack included punching her repeatedly, throwing her phone at the TV, and choking her for about half a minute.

The woman disclosed that he had also kicked, hit, slapped, and headbutted her, causing facial injuries.

On 30 January, Ireson was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court to eight years in prison for rape, following a guilty verdict in August of the previous year.

He additionally received two years for admitting to actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, harassment for breaching a restraining order, and damaging property.

The sentences are to be served consecutively.
