PETERBOROUGH PAEDOPHILE BREACHED ORDER AND IS JAILED
A paedophile who had already been convicted for child sex offences has been sent to prison for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.Khurram Rajput used software called Chat IW on 28 occasions between July 3 and July 23, 2024.
The software is an encrypted chat room which does not save chats, meaning they don't appear in an internet history.
However, the 38-year-old had his Samsung mobile phone seized by officers during a probation meeting in Peterborough on July 23, 2024, after they were concerned he had breached the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) which was imposed on him in May 2023 following a conviction for non-contact child sex offences.
Investigations into the data on the phone found no internet history prior to July 2, 2024, and Rajput had deleted the internet history.
Part of his order forbade him from using a computer or device capable of accessing the internet unless it can retain and display internet history.
He was also prohibited from installing any encryption or wiping software on any device and had breached this by installing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on the phone in June 2024.
On January 29, at Cambridge Crown Court, Rajput, of Nursery Close, Peterborough, was jailed for four years, having pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a SHPO.
