SAMUEL GILL FROM PETERBOROUGH SENTENCED TO 18 MONTHS FOR VIOLENT ATTACK AND THREATS
A man with a history of violence and abuse, Samuel Gill, 32, from Redmile Walk in Peterborough, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following a brutal assault on a woman and a series of threatening behaviors that left her and her children in terror. On the evening of December 12 last year, Gill launched a violent attack on his victim inside her home. He forcibly grabbed her by the leg and dragged her off the bed, an act that was immediately preceded by a chilling threat. Gill shouted at her, saying, “I’m gonna kill you one of these days,” a statement that underscored the severity of his aggression and the danger she faced.
The attack was marked by chaos and distress, especially for the woman’s children, who were present during the incident. Despite their cries and pleas for help, Gill continued his assault until an unexpected interruption occurred. A food delivery arrived at the residence, which temporarily halted his violent actions and allowed the woman to seek help.
Following the incident, the woman contacted the police to report the abuse. She disclosed that Gill had been abusive towards her for the past six months, revealing a pattern of controlling and invasive behavior. She detailed how Gill had monitored her movements through a phone application, effectively invading her privacy and exerting control over her daily activities. Additionally, she reported that Gill had stolen her bank card and used it to withdraw hundreds of pounds from an ATM, further demonstrating his manipulative and criminal conduct.
Gill’s actions and threats have now resulted in a significant legal consequence, with the court sentencing him to 18 months behind bars. His behavior has been characterized as violent and threatening, and the sentence reflects the seriousness of his offenses and the impact on his victim and her children.
