SENTENCED TO MORE THAN THREE YEARS IN PRISON AFTER ADMITTING TO BREACHING HIS SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER
A man aged 60 has been sentenced to more than three years in prison after admitting to breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).Roland Philip Holmes, who previously lived in Kettering, was given the SHPO in November 2024 after being convicted of sexual communication with a minor and encouraging a female under 13 to engage in sexual acts.
The order required Holmes to comply with certain conditions, including avoiding any contact or communication with anyone under 18 and not possessing any images of females under that age—either physically or digitally.
On June 25, police and Probation officers visited Holmes and found numerous images of a teenage girl on his phone.
An investigation carried out by Northamptonshire Police’s MOSOVO team revealed that the girl in the photos was a 17-year-old from Russia, with whom Holmes had been in communication for roughly a month.
Holmes was arrested and charged with two breaches of his SHPO.
He admitted to these charges in court on July 1, 2025.
His sentencing took place in August, where he was sentenced to three years and one month behind bars at Northampton Crown Court.
