MAN SUBJECTED PARTNER TO YEARS OF ABUSE
A 29-year-old man from Kettering, Lewis Edward Arnold Jones, has been sentenced to four years in prison for a prolonged campaign of domestic abuse against his partner.Jones subjected his partner to both physical and psychological torment, leaving her plagued by flashbacks and emotional scars.
His control extended to her wardrobe choices and social interactions, as he dictated who she could befriend and what she could wear.
The abuse also involved constant belittling, verbal insults, and surveillance, with Jones monitoring her bank cards and frequently checking her mobile phone.
The abuse was not only mental; Jones also physically attacked the woman on multiple occasions.
Reports indicate that he stabbed her in the ankle during one incident and kicked her down stairs on another.
The victim courageously reported the abuse to Northamptonshire Police in 2021, prompting an investigation.
Jones was charged with unlawful wounding (Section 20 GBH) and coercive or controlling behavior.
He admitted to both charges at Northampton Crown Court earlier this month.
On November 6, he was sentenced to four years imprisonment.
During the court hearing, the woman’s victim impact statement was read aloud, revealing the profound emotional toll of the abuse.
She described feeling worthless and battling daily struggles related to her experiences with Jones.
