In August of the previous year, Dylan Saunderson was brought before the court on charges that included three counts of rape, one of assault, and one of administering a harmful substance.
At the conclusion of that trial, he was convicted of assault but was found not guilty on two of the rape charges and on the charge related to the noxious substance.
The jury could not reach a verdict on one of the rape counts, leading the victim to opt for a retrial at Northampton Crown Court.
This second trial lasted four days and ended on March 27, with the jury taking two hours to deliver their guilty verdict.
The incident occurred on September 28, 2023, when Saunderson assaulted and raped a woman at her home in Kettering.
He was sentenced on the day of his conviction to nine years for the rape, with an 18-month sentence for the assault to run alongside that.
He also received a six-month prison sentence for a dangerous dog offence, which was to be served after the other sentences.
Saunderson is also to be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
