MAN WHO TERRIFIED HIS EX-PARTNER BY RUNNING AT HER WITH A KNIFE WHILE WEARING A BALACLAVA HAS BEEN JAILED
At 24 years old, Logan Cook was subject to a restraining order that forbade him from making contact or approaching his former partner, with whom he had been together for five years. On the afternoon of August 28, 2024, at around 1:30 pm, the victim was outside her house in Peterborough, talking with two people, when a car suddenly stopped nearby.
Cook got out, dressed fully in black and wearing a balaclava, carrying a knife in his hand.
He ran toward the group shouting, “come on then, come on then,” causing them to run into a nearby flats building to escape.
They managed to reach the victim’s home and get inside.
Cook ran after them but then turned back and returned to his vehicle.
The victim, who had been separated from Cook for several years and was understandably frightened, called the police the following day.
Police investigations showed that the car was registered to Cook’s new partner and that Cook was living in Northamptonshire.
A few days later, Northamptonshire police officers spotted the vehicle.
After a pursuit, Cook fled on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
Earlier this year, Cook pleaded guilty to charges including harassment for violating a restraining order and possessing a sharp object in a public place.
He was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on March 24.
Additionally, a charge related to threatening someone with a bladed weapon was filed aside, and he received a new restraining order lasting four years.
