PAUL VIGGARS FROM KETTERING SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR RAPE OF YOUNG GIRL IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

In June 2016, a man from Kettering, Northamptonshire, was handed a significant prison sentence after being convicted of heinous crimes involving a young girl. Paul Viggars, aged 49 and residing on Vale Street in Kettering, faced a jury that found him guilty of three separate counts of raping a girl who was under the age of 13. The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of the offenses, which took place in the Northamptonshire area, highlighting the severity of the case.

Her Honour Judge Adrienne Lucking QC presided over the case and delivered the sentencing. She stated that Viggars is likely to serve approximately half of his eight-year prison term behind bars before being eligible for release on licence. This means that he will be subject to strict supervision and monitoring upon his release, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.

Furthermore, as part of his ongoing legal obligations, Viggars will be registered on the Sex Offenders Register for life. This registration entails continuous monitoring and reporting requirements, aimed at safeguarding the community from potential future offenses. Additionally, he will be prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 16, a restriction designed to prevent any further harm to minors.
