MICHAEL JORDAN FROM PETERBOROUGH JAILED FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER
A man from Peterborough, Michael Jordan, aged 33, has been sentenced to prison after he was found to have violated a court-imposed sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) on two separate occasions.The breaches occurred despite Jordan's awareness of the strict conditions set by the court, which aimed to restrict his access to digital devices and prevent further offenses.
On 21 March, during a routine meeting with police officers and probation officials in Peterborough, Jordan voluntarily handed over his Samsung mobile phone.
This gesture was part of a standard procedure, but it ultimately led to the discovery of concerning content stored on his device.
An officer examining the phone found that the photo gallery only contained images taken or saved since 1 March, yet the device also held WhatsApp messages, pictures, and videos that predated this date.
These messages included explicit sexual content, with some images and videos appearing in chats marked as deleted, raising suspicions about Jordan's compliance with the court order.
The court had previously imposed the SHPO on Jordan following a conviction in March 2020 for breaching a previous similar order.
The conditions of this current order explicitly prohibited him from using any device capable of connecting to the internet unless he refrained from deleting any internet browsing history.
Additionally, Jordan was barred from using devices capable of storing digital images unless he maintained all content without deletion.
Despite these restrictions, further investigation into his phone revealed that he had deleted WhatsApp conversations, pictures, and TikTok messages, indicating an attempt to conceal certain activities.
On 4 June, at Huntingdon Law Courts, Jordan appeared before the judge and pleaded guilty to two breaches of his SHPO, as well as violating a suspended sentence.
The court sentenced him to 30 months in prison for these offenses.
Jordan's residence is listed as Langley, Bretton, Peterborough.
