'VERY DANGEROUS' PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO OVER A DECADE IN PRISON
A 61-year-old convicted sex offender, Michael Bolderston, has been sentenced to over 11 years in prison after police found more than 1,600 indecent images and videos of children on his devices.
Officers visited his home in Lincoln Road, Peterborough, on 4 April and discovered two mobile phones hidden under a sofa cushion.
Police investigations revealed over 1,100 of these images and videos were classified as category A, indicating the most serious content.
Bolderston was also active in online chats where he communicated with a person he believed to be a woman with three children, and he explicitly requested her to facilitate the sexual abuse of the children, all under age 11.
He also discussed plans to meet the children, describing abusive acts he intended to perform, including requesting they wear their school uniforms without underwear.
Previously convicted for offences involving children, Bolderston was subject to the Sex Offenders Act 2003 notification requirements and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued in March 2016, which mandated he not use internet-enabled devices without reporting all devices capable of access to authorities.
During sentencing at Huntingdon Law Courts, Judge Seely described Bolderston as 'a very dangerous offender' and called the case 'deeply troubling.' He admitted to multiple charges including making indecent images of a child, breaching his SHPO, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and facilitating a child sex offence.
Bolderston was sentenced to 11 years and four months in prison and was given an indefinite SHPO for future monitoring.
