JORDAN WADE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN PETERBOROUGH

A man has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman while she was unconscious.

Jordan Wade, aged 28 and a resident of Werrington, Peterborough, was convicted of inappropriately touching his victim during an incident that took place at her home on the 3rd of February, 2021.

The assault came to light when the woman reported the incident to the authorities, which led to Wade's subsequent arrest. Following a trial at Peterborough Crown Court, Wade was convicted of assault by penetration. The court sentenced him to a term of two years and eight months behind bars.

In addition to his prison sentence, Wade was subjected to a five-year restraining order, which prohibits him from making contact with the victim or approaching her.

Detective Constable Andrew Donaldson of Cambridgeshire Police expressed his appreciation to the victim for her courage in coming forward and providing evidence, even though three years had passed since the assault. He highlighted the serious impact that sexual crimes have on victims and reassured the public that all such allegations are taken with utmost seriousness.

Officers continue to encourage victims of sexual offenses to report incidents without fear of judgment or reprisal, emphasizing that they will be treated with sensitivity and provided with necessary support.
