PETERBOROUGH OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A man named Jordan Duval-Burnett, who lives in Hinchcliffe, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, has been sentenced to prison after committing physical abuse against two former girlfriends. At the time of sentencing, he was 32 years old. Duval-Burnett pled guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm and two counts of assault by beating, which resulted in a prison term of two years and eleven months. His violent actions included attacking one victim in a dispute two months after they connected on social media, during which he squeezed her arms and shouted obscenities directly at her. He also instructed her to leave his residence, and when she begged to converse, he repeatedly kicked her thighs. The abusive behavior extended into February 2023, with him threatening to 'smash your face' and pushing her into an alleyway after grabbing her arms. The victim later shared photos of her injuries on social media, warning women to steer clear of him. The second victim also reported being assaulted when Duval-Burnett tried to seize her phone and threatened to post about her online if she disclosed what had happened. Authorities described his treatment of both women as 'absolutely vile,' stating he left them 'terrified.' The case was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court, where Det Const Chris Enright spoke about the case, noting, 'It has affected the victims, who showed bravery in supporting the investigation. I am glad he is now in custody, and we remain committed to bringing domestic abusers to justice. We are also dedicated to assisting and supporting survivors. I would encourage anyone experiencing abuse to seek help.'
