GARY WANLESS FROM MORECAMBE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES IN LANCASHIRE

Gary Wanless, a man aged 50 and a resident of Morecambe, has been found guilty of multiple serious child sexual offences that have shocked the local community and prompted a strong legal response.

The court heard that Wanless committed a disturbing assault on a young girl when she was only three or four years old, a trauma that undoubtedly left lasting scars.

The offences did not end there; Wanless was also convicted of abusing the same girl again approximately ten years later, when she had reached the age of 14.

These allegations and his subsequent admission of guilt in court have led to a significant sentencing.

In a formal judgment, the court sentenced Wanless to a term of eight years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.

Beyond the custodial sentence, Wanless has been subjected to a 15-year sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his activities and prevent any further contact with minors.
