PAEDOPHILE JAILED AFTER 3,000 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES FOUND
A man convicted of possessing a large number of harmful images of children has received a prison sentence exceeding four years.
Lee Ramsay was found with thousands of disturbing pictures, which led to his imprisonment.
According to Lancashire Constabulary, Ramsay violated the conditions of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued in January 2024, which was related to previous child sex offences.
His illegal activities came to light when, during visits from his offender manager in July and October of the previous year, authorities seized his mobile phones.
An exam of these devices uncovered over 3,000 indecent images, including many depicting children.
Among these, Ramsay admitted to possessing 1,159 images categorized as the most serious ('category A').
His phones were equipped with browsers featuring private search modes that did not record browsing history, along with software that included VPN functionality, enabling him to conceal his online activities.
Ramsay's SHPO barred him from possessing such images on his device and prohibited him from streaming videos or audio without prior police approval.
Nevertheless, he was caught using live-streaming services through his phones without permission.
Previously residing on Parliament Street in Morecambe, Ramsay appeared before Preston Crown Court earlier this month.
Pleading guilty to six charges related to indecent images and eight breaches of his SHPO, he was sentenced to four years and four months in prison by His Honour Judge Preston on May 1.
