RAPIST LEFT VICTIM 'A SHADOW OF HER FORMER SELF'
A woman who was raped by Martin Glover, who posed as a good Samaritan on a night out, says she is now a "shadow of her former self".Glover, of Clarendon Road West in Morecambe, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for the rape in April 2023.
Preston Crown Court heard how Glover took advantage of the victim, offering her a place to stay before committing the assault.
The victim, in her 30s, stated that Glover had "stolen her dignity" and she has suffered from anxiety and "sleepless nights" since.
Det Con Kirsten Bell from Lancaster CID praised her courage and said Glover preyed on a vulnerable woman for sexual gratification, emphasizing that other women are now safe from his offending.
Glover initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea in June.
