MORECAMBE PAEDOPHILE CARL PEARSON CONVICTED OF INDECENT EXPOSURE TO A CHILD
A man who exposed himself to a girl under 16 has escaped a prison sentence.Carl Pearson, from Morecambe, appeared at Preston Crown Court where he admitted to indecent exposure involving a female minor.
Pearson was the former landlord of the Cumberland View Pub in Heysham.
It was revealed during the hearing that Pearson displayed his genitals to the schoolgirl for sexual gratification.
When entering the court for his sentencing, Pearson smiled at the victim and her family, prompting his removal from the courtroom.
The girl later delivered her victim personal statement from behind a barrier to protect herself from Pearson, who was seated at the dock with a smirk on his face.
Prosecutors noted that Pearson continued to giggle in court while discussing the details of his actions and showed no signs of remorse.
The judge sentenced Pearson to an 18-month community order.
During sentencing, he displayed a smug and arrogant attitude.
As part of his punishment, Pearson is required to register as a sex offender for five years and is subject to a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.
