BRETT SHAW FROM EYE AND PETERBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX CRIMES

In a deeply distressing case that has left a community in shock, Brett Shaw, aged 34, has been sentenced to a prison term of ten years and six months for a series of heinous crimes committed against two young girls. Shaw, who resides on Eyebury Road in the town of Eye near Peterborough, was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of multiple serious offenses involving the sexual abuse of children.

Shaw's criminal record includes two counts of raping a female child under the age of 13, four counts of indecent assault against a female, two counts of gross indecency with a child, one count of engaging in sexual activity with a female child, one count of inciting a child under 13 to participate in sexual acts, and two additional counts of sexual assault on a girl under 13. The court proceedings revealed that Shaw targeted the two young victims during visits to their family home, exploiting their innocence and trust.

He described the impact of the abuse as a “life sentence” for his family, emphasizing that the damage inflicted is beyond repair. “He has stolen my kids’ childhood from them,” he said. “My wife suffered a nervous breakdown when we uncovered what had happened. Shaw is completely warped, and ten years is irrelevant. I want him to suffer for 150 years.”

The father also voiced his anger and desire for justice, suggesting that Shaw should be permanently marked to serve as a warning to others. “He should never go free. He should be branded across the forehead so everyone knows the evil he has done. I can’t even put into words how we feel,” he added.

The consequences of Shaw’s abuse extend far beyond the courtroom. The father detailed how his older daughter’s school life has been severely disrupted, and his younger daughter has been in counseling for three years due to an eating disorder linked to the trauma. He described Shaw as a manipulative individual who threatened the girls to keep them silent and scared. Memories of the abuse are still vivid; he recounted an incident where the girls, upset and misbehaving, had emptied makeup all over Shaw’s clothes when he visited, and another time, his youngest daughter punched him in the nose. These acts, he explained, were reactions to the fear and confusion they experienced at the time.

The case came to light after the youngest daughter suffered a panic attack at the mere thought of Shaw visiting the family. She recounted a nightmare she endured at his hands, which ultimately led to Shaw’s arrest six months ago. The father concluded with a powerful statement, condemning Shaw’s actions and emphasizing that he should never be allowed near society again. “This man has nothing to bring to society. He should never be allowed near people again. It has rippled through our entire family. We will never be able to forget what he has done,” he said, highlighting the lasting scars left by Shaw’s heinous crimes.
