ANTONY EASTON FROM KETTERING SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND VOYEURISM INVOLVING HIDDEN CAMERAS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Kettering, 41-year-old Antony Easton has been convicted and sentenced for his involvement in the covert filming and exploitation of children.The criminal proceedings stemmed from a police investigation initiated in late 2019, when authorities uncovered child abuse images uploaded to the internet.
These illicit images were traced back to Easton’s residence, located in Northumberland Close, leading to his arrest and subsequent investigation.
Following his detention, law enforcement officers conducted a thorough search of Easton’s home and electronic devices.
During this search, investigators discovered evidence that revealed Easton’s prior use of hidden cameras to secretly record children.
The devices used for these recordings were concealed, making the crime particularly insidious.
The police found that Easton had engaged in the production of what are known as first-generation images—initially captured photographs obtained through covert means, specifically using hidden cameras placed in locations where children were present.
Easton faced multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent photographs of children and three counts of voyeurism.
He pleaded guilty to all charges during his appearance at Northampton Crown Court in December 2022.
The court subsequently sentenced him earlier this month to a total of 15 months in prison.
The sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the breach of trust involved in exploiting children through clandestine recording devices.
In addition to his prison term, Easton was placed on the sex offender register for a period of eight years.
He was also subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities and contact with minors to prevent further offenses.
As part of the court’s ruling, Easton was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140.
Furthermore, a destruction order was issued for three electronic devices seized during the police investigation, ensuring that any remaining illicit material would be permanently destroyed to prevent further dissemination.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the dangers posed by individuals who use technology to commit such heinous crimes.
