ANDREW PINNEY
Andrew Pinney, who previously resided on Montagu Street in Kettering, was issued with a SHPO in March 2022 following his conviction for creating indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.
The order included specific conditions such as requiring him to inform the police if he acquired any new electronic devices capable of internet access and prohibiting the use of cleaning software on such devices.
However, on February 26 of this year, officers from Northamptonshire Police’s MOSOVO team visited Pinney’s residence and discovered two mobile phones and a laptop that he had not declared.
These items were seized, and subsequent investigations revealed they contained indecent images of children, inappropriate internet searches, and the presence of cleaning and wiping software.
Pinney was arrested and faced charges of four breaches of his SHPO along with a count of making indecent images.
On September 5, he appeared before Northampton Crown Court and pleaded guilty to all five charges, receiving a sentence of one year and 10 months imprisonment.
PC Billy Wright, an officer with the MOSOVO team, stated: “Andrew Pinney blatantly disregarded the conditions set out in his order and has accordingly been sentenced to prison.
“Sexual Harm Prevention Orders are designed to safeguard the public and keep offenders under close supervision.
Any violation of these orders is met with a zero-tolerance policy, and we always pursue custodial sentences when breaches occur.
“Our team is dedicated to protecting Northamptonshire communities, and we will continue to ensure those who breach their SHPO are held accountable.”
