ALISTER MALSER KETTERING BINMAN AND BAND MEMBER JAILED FOR RAPE OF YOUNG GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Kettering, a local man named Alister Malsher has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The incidents took place over a span of several months, from August to November 2016, and involved the grooming and repeated sexual assault of a girl who was only 12 years old at the time.Alister Malsher, aged 24 and residing on St Mary’s Road in Kettering, faced a series of charges that included at least 15 counts of raping the young girl. He also admitted to causing a child under the age of 13 to watch pornographic videos, an act committed for his own sexual gratification. The gravity of these allegations was fully acknowledged during his trial at Northampton Crown Court.
The proceedings took a dramatic turn when, on the fourth day of what was initially scheduled to be a week-long trial, Malsher unexpectedly changed his plea from denial to guilty on all counts. This change of plea came after both the victim, who was just 12 at the time of the offenses, and another young witness had already given their testimonies in court. The jury, which had been deliberating, was subsequently dismissed, and Malsher’s guilty plea was accepted.
During the court hearing, it was revealed that at the time of the offenses, Malsher was not only a binman but also a drummer with a band based at a church in Kettering. The court heard how he had groomed his victim, establishing a manipulative relationship before subjecting her to repeated sexual assaults at an address within the town. The details of the grooming process and the subsequent abuse were deeply troubling, highlighting the predatory nature of Malsher’s actions.
Judge Marcus Tregilgas-Davey, presiding over the case, issued a stern warning to Malsher, indicating that he could expect a significant custodial sentence when he returns to court for sentencing scheduled for December 17. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crimes and the impact on the young victim, underscoring the community’s need for justice and protection against such offenders.
Following his conviction, Malsher was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further harm. The case has left many in Kettering appalled and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and safeguarding vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
