VOYEUR FILMED 12-YEAR-OLD GETTING DRESSED
2017.Adam Mitchell, aged 28, has been sentenced to a total of 27 months in prison after secretly filming a schoolgirl as she was changing clothes.
Leeds Crown Court was informed that the 12-year-old victim noticed a camera concealed beneath some clothing as she was dressing.
Prosecutor Ian Brook stated that the girl had just dried herself and was putting on underwear and jeans when she discovered she was being recorded.
She then retrieved the device, believed she had erased its contents, and confronted Mitchell, whom she suspected of filming her.
Additionally, it was revealed that on another occasion, Mitchell had touched her over her clothing around her chest area.
After reporting the incident, authorities seized the camera and found Mitchell’s face on footage he had set up.
The image of the girl was classified as Category C, indicating the lowest level of seriousness.
Mitchell’s solicitor, Caroline Wigin, acknowledged that her client accepted his actions and understood their seriousness.
She noted that the probation service indicated they could work with Mitchell to prevent future incidents.
Wigin highlighted his fear of jail time, prior lack of convictions, and respectable reputation among his employers.
Mitchell, of Kingshead Road, Mirfield, admitted charges of voyeurism, taking an indecent photo of a minor, and sexual assault.
Judge Rachael Harrison told him that, at 28, he was 14 years older than the girl and clearly found her sexually appealing, which influenced his inappropriate behavior.
The judge emphasised the emotional damage caused to the girl and concluded that an immediate prison sentence was necessary.
