A PREGNANT WOMAN HEADBUTTED A TEENAGE GIRL
A woman who was pregnant struck a teenage girl during an altercation involving bullying in Fife.Tahina Prentice, aged 38, assaulted the 14-year-old girl as she was walking with friends.
During her appearance at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, Prentice was found guilty of two counts of assault committed in Fife on November 10, 2022, as well as a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
Prentice explained to the court that she encountered the complainant and her friends and observed them making obscene gestures and shouting.
She stated she tried to ignore their behavior but became concerned when her relative was distressed and the group started issuing threats.
She further explained, “I said, ‘we’ve been to the police and we’ve been to the school, I’m going to speak to them myself’.” She acknowledged that she became visibly upset, attributing this to “pregnancy hormones” and her frustration with the situation.
Prentice denied physically headbutting the girl or grabbing and pushing her in another assault.
Sheriff Susan Duff commented that she found both teenage witnesses to be credible and noted that in the video footage Prentice appears clearly antagonistic.
