FIFE MAN FINED AFTER ABUSIVE TIRADE AT YOUNG GIRL
A man from Fife has been ordered to pay a fine of £675 after verbally insulting a 12-year-old girl with autism, following an incident where she threw sand at his vehicle.Dhillon Singh, aged 22, was involved in a heated confrontation with the girl’s mother in Dunfermline, during which he at one point directed a hurtful comment at the child: “Who you talking to you wee spazzy mongo?” His defense lawyer explained that Singh’s Honda Civic was very important to him, describing it as his “pride and joy,” and that sand had entered the engine, resulting in repair costs that Singh had to cover.
Singh, a resident of Dunfermline, appeared before the sheriff court in Dunfermline for sentencing after previously admitting to a charge of conduct likely to cause fear or disturbance, which occurred on August 22 of the previous year.
During the incident, he displayed aggressive behavior, shouted, used foul language, issued threats to damage property, and made offensive remarks towards the young girl.
The case was regarded as a statutory hate crime.
