TRAINEE COP ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER BOOZE-FUELLED ASSAULT AT POLICE COLLEGE
A trainee police officer has been placed on the sex offenders register after sexually assaulting a woman at Scotland’s national police college.Adam MacAlister ignored repeated pleas to stop as he targeted the woman — a friend — after a night of heavy drinking.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard the probationer had been drinking in a local pub before returning to Scottish Police College, where he was so intoxicated he was stumbling and slurring his words.
Concerned for his condition, the woman helped him back to his room — but what followed quickly turned sinister.
Once inside, MacAlister pulled her in for a hug before attempting to kiss her.
She immediately pushed him away and made it clear she was not interested.
Despite this, he persisted — urging her to “just kiss” him — before repeatedly kissing her neck as she tried to pull away.
The woman told him to stop and left the room, later describing how the ordeal left her feeling scared and shaken.
The following day, MacAlister apologised but claimed he could not remember the incident due to his level of intoxication.
The court heard he admitted sexually assaulting the woman by repeatedly attempting to kiss her and kissing her neck without consent.
MacAlister, whose address was given as Police Scotland professional standards office in Glasgow, will be sentenced on April 24.
In the meantime, he has been placed on the sex offenders register.
The case raises serious questions about conduct and accountability within police training environments.
