DUNFERMLINE SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT AFTER HE SENT STREAM OF SEXUAL IMAGES
A Dunfermline sex offender repeatedly had online contact with people he believed to be young girls under the age of 16.
Stephen Reid, 62, sent a stream of sexual messages for more than a year, but the recipients were in fact an undercover police officer and various other decoys.
Reid, currently a prisoner at Perth, was living at Fernie Place, Dunfermline, when he committed the crimes and has a history of sex offending.
Reid appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court by video-link from prison and admitted a series of charges of attempting to communicate indecently with a child.
The court was told that Reid accepts a prison term is inevitable.
Sheriff Robert More adjourned the case until December 9, and Reid remains remanded in custody.
