EDINBURGH PERVERT SOLT SALAT CAUGHT WITH HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN EDINBURGH

A disturbing case has emerged involving Solt Salat, a 27-year-old man from Edinburgh, who was found to possess a large collection of child abuse images depicting victims as young as two years old. The investigation revealed that Salat had been downloading hundreds of these heinous images and videos onto his mobile phone and laptop over a span of four years, raising serious concerns about ongoing abuse and exploitation.

Authorities uncovered the extent of his illegal activities during a police raid at his former residence located in the Newington area of Edinburgh. The police operation was initiated after receiving intelligence indicating that Salat was accessing indecent images of children. On July 13 of the previous year, officers executed a search warrant at his flat and gained entry with the assistance of a flatmate. Once inside, they found Salat in his bedroom, where they seized his mobile device and a MacBook Air laptop for examination.

Subsequent cybercrime investigations revealed a disturbing collection of approximately 700 images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. During the court hearing held at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, it was disclosed that 155 of these images were classified as Category A, representing the most severe level of depravity. These images included graphic content showing young girls, some as young as two, being raped by adult men. Some of the children depicted in the footage were shown being restrained, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material.

Ruaridh Allison, the fiscal depute, informed the court that the footage involved children aged between two and twelve years old. The investigation also uncovered that Salat had moved to Newcastle, but his illegal activities in Edinburgh had already been established. The court was told that Salat pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children at his former address on East Preston Street, Edinburgh, between September 18, 2019, and July 13 of the following year. In addition, he entered a not guilty plea to charges of possessing extreme pornographic images involving animals such as dogs, horses, and poultry, with the Crown accepting this plea.

During the hearing, Sheriff Kevin McCarron ordered Salat to be placed on the sex offenders register on an interim basis and released him on bail. The court deferred sentencing until next month to allow for social work reports to be prepared, which will inform the final judgment. The case has shocked the local community and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and abuse in Edinburgh.
