SAM BROWN'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN EDINBURGH AND GLASGOW LEAD TO 10-YEAR SENTENCE
A teenage man from Edinburgh, Sam Brown, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses committed against four young girls over a span of nine months.The conviction was handed down at the High Court in Edinburgh on September 2, 2024, where Brown received a 10-year extended sentence, including an initial seven years of imprisonment with an additional three-year extension.
Brown, aged 20 at the time of sentencing, was found guilty on seven counts following a detailed trial that revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.
The court heard that Brown first met his initial victim through social media platforms.
Their relationship quickly escalated, culminating in a violent and sexual assault during their first face-to-face meeting on March 10, 2022.
This assault took place in Edinburgh, marking the beginning of a series of heinous acts.
The very next day, Brown attacked and raped a 16-year-old girl at an address in Edinburgh.
The following months saw him continue his assaultive behavior, including a short-lived relationship with a second 16-year-old girl, whom he met online.
During this period, he traveled to Glasgow, where he raped her at an address, and also sexually assaulted her in a wooded area.
Disturbingly, during these encounters, the victim was also subjected to repeated head strikes while engaging in consensual intercourse with Brown.
In June 2022, Brown's criminal activities persisted.
On June 28, he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl after meeting her in Edinburgh city centre.
Later that year, on December 17, he targeted a 15-year-old girl in a field in Edinburgh, having met her through Snapchat.
These repeated offenses highlight a pattern of predatory behavior directed at vulnerable young girls.
Following his arrest and trial, Brown was also subject to non-harassment orders, which prohibit him from contacting or attempting to contact any of his four victims.
These orders were granted on an indefinite basis, emphasizing the seriousness of his offenses and the court's intent to protect the victims from further harm.
