CHRISTIAN LAMBERT JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN EDINBURGH'S SLATEFORD
A man named Christian Lambert has been sentenced to prison after committing a disturbing sexual assault against a young girl in Edinburgh's Slateford area.The incident involved Lambert, who posed as a teenager on social media, specifically Snapchat, to lure the 12-year-old girl into a vulnerable situation.
He initially contacted her online, claiming to be a boy only a few years older than her, which led to a series of interactions that culminated in a horrifying attack.
According to court records, Lambert, aged 21, met the girl in person on March 27 of the previous year.
The meeting took place in Edinburgh, where Lambert had been staying.
After their initial encounter, the pair left the flat briefly around midnight to visit a nearby park, before returning to the residence.
The girl, who has a vague memory of the events, recalled repeatedly falling asleep during the ordeal.
She later disclosed to police that Lambert had raped her and had also choked her during the assault.
The girl reported the incident to authorities the following day, which led to Lambert’s swift arrest.
Prosecutors revealed that Lambert had known the girl for approximately a week prior to the attack, having met her online under the alias 'Chris.' The girl believed Lambert to be around 14 or 15 years old, which made her vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation.
During the court proceedings, Lambert pleaded guilty to the charges, including the rape of a minor.
His defense attorney, Graham Robertson, stated that Lambert had expressed remorse for his actions and was eager to accept responsibility.
