SHAUN PATON SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN DUNFERMLINE
A man from Dunfermline, Shaun Paton, has been sentenced to a three-year prison term after being convicted of serious sexual offenses involving two young girls.The conviction was handed down at Edinburgh High Court on January 23, following a trial where the evidence against him was thoroughly examined.
According to court records, the offenses took place over a span of several years, beginning on April 14, 2013, and continuing until November 30, 2017.
The first victim, a girl under the age of 13, was subjected to multiple assaults at three different locations within Dunfermline.
The details of the abuse include Paton pushing her backwards onto a bed, forcibly kissing her, and touching her face.
He also pulled up her clothing, made her touch him in a sexual manner, and committed a sexual assault against her.
These acts were carried out on various occasions, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.
In addition to the first victim, Paton was also found guilty of abusing a second girl, also under 13, at an address in Dunfermline.
The incidents involving the second girl occurred between March 4, 2014, and November 20, 2017.
During these assaults, he pulled down her clothing and sexually assaulted her, which resulted in injuries.
The court heard evidence of the repeated nature of these offenses, highlighting the severity and the impact on the victims.
Following the conviction, the judge sentenced Shaun Paton to three years in prison, emphasizing the gravity of his crimes and the need to protect vulnerable children from such abuse.
