CLYDEBANK MAN SENTENCED OVER DOMESTIC ASSAULTS ON PARTNER
A man identified as Samuel Bain, aged 31, has been involved in multiple domestic violence incidents. He previously pleaded guilty to offenses including assaults and even jumping over the front desk inside Clydebank police station.
Bain appeared in Dumbarton Sheriff Court on September 10 for sentencing concerning several cases, all while on bail.
The incidents include a physical altercation on May 31 last year on Kilbowie Road, Clydebank, where he pushed and repeatedly punched his partner, causing visible bruising under her eye.
Police arrived after a CCTV operator alerted them.
Furthermore, on June 16, 2023, Bain assaulted the same woman at Dalmuir Court, repeatedly punching and kicking her and causing her to fall to the ground, injuries that were also captured on CCTV.
A female friend tried to intervene and was dragged to the ground by Bain.
On November 23 last year, Bain was at Clydebank police station and became aggressive, claiming the officers were not 'real police' and jumping over the counter to enter a restricted area.
Recently, on June 13 and 14 of this year, despite court orders not to approach his ex, Bain repeatedly visited her property and sent voicemails.
He admitted to the domestic assaults from May and June last year, as well as assaulting another woman last June, breaching bail conditions.
Social workers assessed him as suitable for the Caledonian Men's Programme to address behavioral issues.
He was sentenced to a two-year community payback order, with review set for December, where further protective measures could be considered.
