CLYDEBANK MAN ADMITS DISTRIBUTION OF INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A Clydebank man has admitted distributing indecent images of children as young as one year old.Connor Cook pleaded guilty to two serious sexual offences and was immediately added to the sex offenders register.
The 25-year-old, of Cleddans View, Drumry, admitted to possession of indecent photos or pseudo photos of children between May 17 and December 10, 2024.
He further pleaded guilty to distribution of indecent images on October 4 and 5 last year.
The Crown accepted a not guilty plea to taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photos or pseudo photographs.
The court heard police executed a search warrant on December 10 last year and seized a phone.
Cook provided the pin access.
A cyber forensics inspection found a total of 47 still images and 22 moving images.
A total of 25 of the still images were of the most serious category A, while 13 of the moving images were at that level.
The still images were of boys and girls aged between one and 13.
The moving images were mostly female and of the same age range.
Investigators also found Cook had used the messaging app Telegram to distribute images between October 4 and 5, exchanging with three unknown users.
Defence solicitor Paul Sweeney said police put his client in touch with the Stop It Now programme run by the Lucy Faithfull Foundation to prevent child abuse.
Sheriff John McElroy KC deferred sentence until December for reports from social work, the Lucy Faithfull Foundation and from a psychiatrist.
Cook was added to the sex offenders register in the interim.
