CLYDEBANK MAN ADMITS HAVING INDECENT IMAGES OF KIDS AS YOUNG AS TWO
A resident of Clydebank has confessed to possessing numerous indecent images of children, some involving individuals as young as two years old.Thomas Murray admitted to being in possession of these photographs or pseudo-photographs from October 28, 2017, through January 16, 2025.
The 63-year-old, residing at Langfaulds Crescent, entered a guilty plea to the charge during a hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on May 26.
Police executed a search at his home shortly after 7 a.m.
on January 16 last year, armed with a warrant.
During the search, they recovered several electronic devices, which he acknowledged owning.
A Samsung mobile phone was examined and found to contain 52 still images.
The images depicted boys and girls aged from two to 15 years.
The court was informed that three of these images fell into the most severe Category A classification, another three were Category B, and the remaining 46 were Category C.
All images could be viewed directly on the device without the need for special software.
Sheriff John McElroy KC postponed sentencing until June 16 to allow for the preparation of reports.
