MAN WHO STALKED ESTRANGED WIFE EVERY DAY IS JAILED
A man accused of stalking his estranged wife by repeatedly visiting her home has been sent to prison.Rytis Lisauskas would spend hours outside her residence in Peterborough, follow her to a bus stop, and throw stones at her window, according to Cambridgeshire Police.
The 32-year-old, who hails from Huntingdon but is currently homeless, was found guilty of controlling and coercive behavior, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
He received a sentence of three years and two months at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday.
Authorities revealed that he had been appearing at her home regularly since their ten-year relationship ended in July.
He was taken into custody after damaging a window there in September.
During detention, it was discovered he had committed multiple violent acts, including punching her in the head, police stated.
Although he was released on bail with a condition not to approach the property, he allegedly disabled CCTV cameras there.
According to police, he broke into her home by force while she had barricaded herself in a bedroom with her children, during which he took items he claimed were his.
Detective Constable Emily Richardson commented, “The victim and her family have gone through a traumatic experience because of Lisauskas’s appalling and selfish behaviour." She urged anyone who fears they are being stalked or harassed to reach out to the police for help.
