CUMBERNAULD RAPIST RYAN MCDONALD RECEIVES GUILTY VERDICT
A young man found guilty of raping two women shouted “both those girls are lying” as the jury returned their guilty verdicts.Brute Ryan McDonald was this week found guilty by a jury following a trial at the [High Court of raping two women.
The beast raped one of the women on two occasions at a [property in 2022.
McDonald, described as a prisoner of Barlinnie as he is remanded on this matter, was also found guilty of raping another woman in May 2023, also at a property in [Cumbernauld.
The 25-year-old was unanimously found guilty of “engaging in a course of behaviour” between February 2020 and May 2023, which was “abusive” to one of the women.
The court heard how the bully “repeatedly” shouted, swore and “repeatedly” damaged items belonging to the woman.
He also sent her “abusive and threatening messages.” McDonald “repeatedly” spat on and at her, repeatedly struck and punched her on the head and body.
When the woman was pregnant, the thug demanded money from her, repeatedly threatened her, broke a mirror and repeatedly spat near her.
He violently assaulted this woman before raping her in May 2023.
The trial heard how he seized her by the hair and dragged her from a bed onto the ground before wrapping a cable around her leg, tightening it and dragging her across the ground.
Out-of-control McDonald repeatedly spat on her head, repeatedly refused to leave when requested to do so, repeatedly pursued her, put his hand over her mouth, put his arms around her and raped her.
The abuser was also found guilty of engaging in a course of behaviour that was abusive of the second victim in 2022.
He repeatedly shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards this woman.
The court heard he called her derogatory names, repeatedly spat on her, bit her head and body causing injury, wrote on her leg with a pen and “repeatedly consumed controlled drugs.” During one horrific incident, McDonald pushed the woman causing her to fall against a cooker.
He spat on her before throwing lemonade over her head and body.
When the women tried to escape the bully and locked herself in the bathroom, McDonald repeatedly struck the door and attempted to set fire to a cage containing rats.
On an occasion in 2022, having consensually kissed the woman, the predator then assaulted her by restraining and biting her before raping her.
Another occasion in early 2022 saw McDonald seize hold of her, pull her and restrain her before raping her.
While the jury returned their verdict to the court, McDonald sat in the dock shouting, “I didn’t rape anyone.
Both those girls are lying.” Defence counsel Mr Nelson stated he wished to “withhold mitigation” for the preparation of reports.
Judge Erroch KC stated: “You’ve been found guilty of the charges you faced.
What I intend to do is not pass sentence today but call for the preparation of full reports and a risk assessment.” The Crown provided victim impact statements on behalf of both victims and asked for non-harassment orders to be put in place.
Sentencing was adjourned for the preparation of reports until next month at [Paisley High Court.
McDonald had his conviction referred to the Scottish Ministers and was placed on the sex offender’s register.
Consideration of the non-harassment orders was adjourned until the date of sentencing and McDonald was remanded in custody.
