CUMBERNAULD OAP CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES ADMITS 'I WAS CURIOUS'
Dennis Hendry, an elderly resident of Cumbernauld, has been added to the sex offenders' register after authorities uncovered images of child abuse on his computer.
The 79-year-old man confessed that he had viewed the illicit material out of curiosity and had downloaded images related to child sexual abuse at his residence on Muirfield Road from January 2023 to November 2024.
Additionally, he was found in possession of extreme pornography involving animals.
On November 27, 2024, police carried out a search warrant, revealing 37 images of child abuse, including 10 classified in the most severe category.
Hendry received a community payback order, was placed under social work supervision for two and a half years, faced restrictions on internet access, and his computer was ordered to be destroyed.
