SICK MAN PRETENDED HE WAS 15 AND RAPED YOUNG GIRL
A man who pretended he was 15 and raped a young girl he met online has been sentenced.
Ryan Bailey, who was actually 19 at the time, conversed with the girl online while posing as a 15-year-old boy.
Last December, Bailey convinced his victim to meet him in Staffordshire after claiming to be given £400 to do so.
When they met, Bailey raped her.
Officers from Staffordshire Police apprehended Bailey during a train journey following the incident.
Bailey was charged with rape and appeared in court.
On October 2, Bailey of Beeston, Nottingham, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison after admitting to raping a girl under 13 earlier, at Stafford Crown Court.
He was also ordered to stay on an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and to register as a sex offender.
Detective Constable Mylene Bepole from Staffordshire Police's child protection unit commented on the case, highlighting the survivor’s bravery and emphasizing the support available for victims.
Police issued a reminder that survivors can safely report offences and will be treated with dignity.
