MIDLAND CHILD SEX OFFENDER ANDREW DAVIES JAILED FOR NINE YEARS
A 'dangerous' child sex offender has been put behind bars for nine years.
Andrew Davies committed a string of 'heinous' offences in the 70s and 80s.
The survivors bravely came forward in 2023 and told police what Davies had done to them.
Staffordshire Police brought Davies in for questioning in July 2023, but he answered no comment to all questions.
However following a trial, the 58-year-old, of Penkhull, Staffordshire, was found guilty of 10 sexual offences.
This included one count of rape of a female under 16, four counts of sexual assault of a girl and one count of inciting a girl to commit an act of gross indecency.
Davies also pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting a girl to commit an act of gross indecency and two counts of sexual assault of a girl.
He was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, December 18.
In addition to the prison sentence, he has been put on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
Detective Constable Lily Rowley, from the force's rape and serious sexual offences unit, said: “Davies is a dangerous offender who has rightfully been put behind bars for his heinous crimes.
“I’d like this to serve as a message to any survivors out there that we are determined to deliver justice for you and to act robustly against those responsible.” The force has urged survivors who feel ready to talk to call 101.
