MAN JAILED AFTER ADMITTING RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man has received a prison sentence of nine years and nine months after admitting to the sexual assault and rape of a woman in Tamworth.
Mohammad Wajid Koko, aged 24 and without a fixed address, appeared before Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, November 6.
He had previously entered pleas of guilty to both rape and sexual assault.
The incident occurred on June 2 of the previous year when Koko targeted a woman, subsequently raping and sexually assaulting her.
Upon receiving reports of the assault, specialised detective teams acted promptly, leading to Koko’s quick arrest.
He was detained for questioning, charged with the offences, and appeared before court.
Dedicated officers provided continuous support to the victim during the evidence collection process, ensuring thorough investigation and justice.
In addition to his prison term, the court ordered Koko to be registered on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
