ROBERT GOODWILLIE AND LEVI BISSETT OF DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO DOG SUKI
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dunfermline, two individuals, Robert Goodwillie and Levi Bissett, faced justice for their heinous treatment of a defenseless dog named Suki.Both residents of Broomhead Drive, Dunfermline KY12 9AG, Goodwillie, born around 1989, and Bissett, born on May 26, 1994, were found guilty of subjecting Suki to prolonged and sadistic cruelty over a period of three months.
According to court records, the pair admitted to causing Suki unnecessary suffering through a series of neglectful and abusive acts.
They failed to seek or provide proper veterinary care for her worsening health conditions, which included a chronic skin disease, dry eye, and overgrown claws.
These untreated ailments led to complications that severely deteriorated her health, ultimately resulting in her suffering and decline.
The cruelty escalated on April 10, 2018, when Goodwillie, who has a prior conviction for possessing child pornography, inflicted further injuries on Suki.
Court documents reveal that he dragged and kicked the small dog, then launched her into the air, causing her to land with her legs splayed.
These acts of violence caused her immense pain and suffering, and the injuries she sustained were so severe that she had to be euthanized due to her poor condition.
During the court proceedings, neither Goodwillie nor Bissett was represented by a solicitor.
When asked by Sheriff Craig McSherry if they wished to make any statement regarding their actions, both individuals simply shook their heads, showing no remorse or explanation for their cruelty.
Despite the severity of their actions, the court did not impose a ban on them owning or keeping animals in the future.
Instead, they received four-month restriction of liberty orders, a sentence that many might consider lenient given the nature of the crimes committed.
