A VIOLENT OFFENDER ABUSED HIS WIFE WHEN SHE ARRIVED IN FIFE FROM PAKISTAN AND ALSO STRUCK A YOUNG GIRL IN THE FACE.
A man accused of domestic abuse and child assault was publicly exposed after a young girl’s courageous actions brought his behavior to light. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Muhammad Adnanzia living on Malcolm Street in Dunfermline, was found guilty in a case held at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
The case revealed that Adnanzia, who moved to Scotland from Pakistan in 2016 and worked as a taxi driver, had a history of violence.
He denied the charges, alleging a conspiracy against him involving his wife and her friend; however, the court did not accept his explanation.
The prosecution outlined that between March 31 last year and May 1 this year, Adnanzia engaged in a series of abusive acts toward his wife, which included grabbing her hair causing injury, throwing a glass at a wall, scattering food around the room, hitting her repeatedly with a shoe, striking her face multiple times, gripping her by the neck, and throwing a shoe at her.
Additionally, he was convicted of physically assaulting a seven-year-old girl at his home sometime between November 24 last year and April 30, by slapping her in the face.
Adnanzia, who moved to Scotland to work after relocating from Pakistan, claimed to the court that he had suffered a stroke, which he said contributed to his behavior.
His wife, who arrived in Scotland last year, was also a part of the case.
The abuse was disclosed when the young girl told her teacher she had been slapped twice.
This report prompted an investigation, which was further supported by the girl encouraging her mother to contact police.
During the trial, the defendant accused the prosecution of lying throughout, but the sheriff dismissed his claims as false.
The sheriff praised the girl’s bravery in revealing her abuse amid difficult circumstances.
Adnanzia is due to be sentenced on 9th February after further reports are completed.
