Louis Riley-Brazier, aged 32, is a personal trainer who has admitted to strangling a pregnant woman at her residence and kicking two police officers. The incident occurred on December 4, 2024, in the presence of a child.
At the time of the attack, Brazier was on bail for a separate offence where he was caught driving with four times the legal alcohol limit while a child was in his vehicle.
During the court hearing at Preston Magistrates' Court, Brazier pleaded guilty to charges of intentional strangulation, assault on emergency workers, and drink driving.
The judge, District Judge Jane Goodwin, acknowledged the severity of the offences, noting they involved aggravating factors such as being on bail, in a domestic environment, with a child present, and the victim being pregnant.
The judge also mentioned that the sentencing range for intentional strangulation is between 12 months and three years in prison, but due to the seriousness of the case, Brazier was committed to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court.
Brazier was granted bail with conditions that included not contacting his victim and residing at his father's address in Nelson.
