HAWICK TEENAGER CAUGHT WITH INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN GETS SUPERVISION
A 19-year-old from Hawick who admitted to possessing indecent images of children has been sentenced to a year of supervision under a Community Pay Back order.
Court reports state that Logan Torrie, of Longcroft Road, pleaded guilty to creating or causing indecent photos and videos at his residence between January 30, 2020, and June 29, 2021.
Nearly 400 indecent images of minors were discovered on three internet devices.
The offenses began when Torrie was just 16 years old.
His legal representative mentioned that boredom and loneliness led Torrie to join a chat website, which later attracted individuals interested in sharing pornographic videos.
As part of his sentence, Torrie is forbidden from accessing the internet without prior approval from his supervising social worker.
Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for 12 months.
Torrie appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, where the case was heard.
