MAN JAILED FOR MAKING INDECENT IMAGES
A man from Carlisle was sentenced to prison yesterday (2 Dec) after being convicted of creating indecent images of children.David Wilson, aged 52 and residing on Admiral Way, Carlisle, received a sentence of 20 months imprisonment for numerous charges related to the production of indecent images involving minors from August 2024 to July 2025.
He was also placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which will be in effect for ten years.
Wilson, who is a registered sex offender, was taken into custody in July 2025 following a home visit by his Offender Manager, during which authorities searched his devices and discovered the files.
The search uncovered more than 60 files depicting sexual interest in children.
Investigations revealed that Wilson had accessed the dark web using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in an attempt to conceal his identity.
Detective Constable Anna Ritson from the Cumbria Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) unit stated: “Wilson is a dangerous individual, and it is clear he went to great lengths to hide his offending behaviors.
“MOSOVO officers are crucial in protecting communities by carefully managing registered sex offenders, ensuring they follow legal requirements, and prosecuting those who breach the rules or commit further crimes.”
