KIERAN BECK, SEXUAL PREDATOR FROM HAWICK, DIES IN EDINBURGH PRISON
Kieran Beck, a convicted sexual predator from Hawick, tragically passed away while incarcerated at HMP Edinburgh.
The 27-year-old had been convicted of multiple serious crimes, including rape, sexual assault, and physical abuse.
His offending spree spanned over seven years, beginning when he was just 15 years old, during which he targeted three different women.
Beck faced numerous charges, and on June 23, 2023, he was found guilty of nine separate offenses.
His crimes included raping a victim at his home as a teenager and assaulting another woman while she was asleep.
In one particularly violent attack, Beck punched, kicked, and placed a victim in a headlock.
During his sentencing at the High Court in Edinburgh, he was sentenced to seven years in prison and was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period.
Sadly, he died behind bars on Thursday.
Police Scotland and the Procurator Fiscal have been notified of his death, and a Fatal Accident Inquiry is set to be carried out.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson commented, 'Every death is a tragedy for those who knew the individual,' highlighting the seriousness of the circumstances as investigations continue.
