KARL SNAPE FROM ASHTON AND SALFORD JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Ashton and Salford, Karl Snape, aged 44, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of minors. The offences span several years and involve multiple victims, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

Snape, a resident of Gransmoor Avenue in Ashton, was found guilty by Manchester Crown Court at Crown Square of committing a total of 16 serious offences. These included 13 counts of indecent assault and three counts of rape, all related to the abuse of children during the period from 1983 to 1989. The court heard that the victims ranged in age from as young as seven to 11 years old at the time of the assaults.

The youngest victim, a girl aged just seven, was subjected to sexual abuse starting from a very early age, marking a particularly disturbing aspect of Snape’s criminal conduct. Two other victims, both boys aged eight and 11, respectively, endured ongoing abuse over a span of six years. The crimes took place within the Salford area, adding to the community’s sense of betrayal and outrage.

Following his conviction, Snape was sentenced to a prison term of 13 years. The court also ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the public from further harm.

Despite his incarceration, Snape has been active on social media, specifically Facebook, since his release in January 2023, raising concerns among authorities and community members about his potential contact with victims or other vulnerable individuals. His presence online continues to be a point of concern for law enforcement and local residents alike.
