MAN SENTENCED TO11 YEARS AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF ATTEMPTED RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man aged 45 has received an 11-year prison sentence after being convicted of attempted rape and two counts of sexual assault. The court delivered the verdict following a trial earlier this year.
Michael Modlinsky (born 06/10/1980), a resident of Salford, appeared at Bolton Crown Court on 07/04/2026 for sentencing, after an investigation conducted by the Salford Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Upon release, he will be subject to a three-year licence period and will also be under a lifetime restraining order.
The victim first encountered Modlinsky in August 2025.
After several meetings over four weeks, he escalated his interactions by making sexually explicit remarks and initiating further contact despite the victim’s repeated refusals, insisting there was nothing between them.
One evening, Modlinsky attempted to force himself on the victim and made threats to rape her.
However, she managed to push him away and escape the situation before reporting the incident to authorities.
During police interviews, Modlinsky denied making such comments or assaulting the victim.
Nonetheless, the jury convicted him on all three charges.
