CUMNOCK MAN IAIN SHARP SENTENCED FOR ASSAULT AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR
A man from Cumnock, Iain Sharp, aged 31, has been sentenced after being found guilty of abusive and violent conduct towards a woman.Sharp was convicted under Section 38(1) of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010, as well as for assault causing injury.
Following his conviction, the Sheriff imposed a Community Payback Order that includes a 12-month Supervision Requirement, meaning Sharp will be under close monitoring by social workers over the next year.
Additionally, the court issued a Non-Harassment Order (NHO) preventing Sharp from contacting or approaching the victim for 12 months.
The victim publicly shared the emotional impact of the abuse, stating she had become isolated from friends and family due to Sharp’s controlling behavior.
This case underscores the severe consequences of coercive and abusive actions, reflecting the justice system’s ongoing efforts to safeguard victims.
